Flag Dominoes - Fredericks & Mae
These dominos replace the classic dots (or pips), with silkscreened nautical flags used to communicate numbers 0-6.
The game's name comes from the pieces' resemblance to Venetian Carnival masks known as domino, which were white with black spots. These masks were so named, in turn, because they resembled French priests' winter hoods, being black on the outside and white on the inside. The oldest known domino set was found in Tutankamen's tomb, among the ruin of Thebes.
9" x 3" x 2"
Materials: baltic birch, ink, paper.
I bought this domino set for our holiday house and my 10 year grandson has had so much fun paying falling dominoes with them over the holidays. They are a little smaller than I imagined but no less fun. Gorgeous bright colours and very classy.
